Sr. Financial Analysis Associate | Prudential Financial | Newark, NJ

Responsible for conducting and documenting moderate to complex financial analysis projects in the areas of management reporting, strategic planning, expense management or competitive analysis. Position requires limited supervision. Brings inconsistencies and problems to the attention of management. Position may require four year degree or equivalent business experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Prudential International Insurance (PII) Finance department has a challenging new opportunity in our Budget and & Cash Management unit. We're looking for a self-motivated, high caliber Sr. Financial Analysis associate to join our International Insurance team in Newark.

PII currently has 9 life insurance operations and representative offices in China & India. We operate our life insurance businesses in Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Japan (2), Korea, Mexico, Poland and Taiwan and continue to look for opportunities to grow our business.

Reporting to a Financial Analyst, the associate will be responsible for the following activities:
  • Annual budget process
  • Quarterly expense forecasts
  • Monthly expense reporting including variance analysis
  • Expense management
  • International subsidiary billing
  • Preparation of monthly expense vouchers (e.g., adjustments and accruals).
  • Adhoc requests
  • Serve as a back-up for cash management activities

PII's Newark support group is relatively small which provides a wide range of opportunities and growth potential.

QUALIFICATIONS:
We are looking for an individual who will make a difference in our organization and possesses the following qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 2 year financial related experience
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong PC skills (a firm working knowledge of Excel).
  • Knowledge of Prudential's financial systems (Oracle, OFA, EFDW, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Discretion to deal with confidential information.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing, and challenging environment.
  • Foreign language skills are NOT necessary.
  • Travel is not expected.

Comments: Over time will be required during the monthly closes and during the budget process.
