DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for providing
budgeting, cost and hour analyses, and reporting on/analysis of indirect
expenses, pools and bases. Responsible for preparing budgets,
forecasts, and related reports for specified profit and cost centers to
monitor overall financial performance. Work is prepared to strict
deadlines on a regular basis. Other duties include:
- Work closely with department and cost center managers in preparing
budgets, updating budgets, reporting and helping them to understand
costs incurred and variances to budget.
- Prepares a variety of actual vs. budget reports for departments and
cost centers including supporting financial and variance analyses and
recommendations for corrective action(s).
- Assist in establishing profit center revenue, cost of sales, gross
margin, discretionary spending through profit (loss) and cost center
expenses, base, and rate budgets and forecasts for one or more calendar
years.
- Support financial budgeting by consolidating detailed budget data in
support of statements of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow;
analyzes the expenses and bases, identifies discrepancies, and initiates
corrective action, reports monthly results to management.
- Perform special economic evaluations, business and cost impact analysis
and forecasting.
- Interfaces with DCAA and external auditors on a variety of audit
inquiries.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an
emphasis in Accounting and/or Finance and six or more years of
progressive professional cost accounting experience in a corporate
environment, preferably with a government contractor. Must have a
comprehensive understanding of industry and government cost accounting
principles, government accounting rules and regulations, including FAR,
CAS, and other agency guidance. Must be customer focused and possess:
(1) the ability to identify issues and develop solutions to a variety of
problems of diverse scope and complexity; (2) excellent analytical,
verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report,
and present accounting and finance findings to a variety of audiences
including senior management and senior external parties; (3) the ability
to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; (4) the
ability to initiate, plan, and manage projects; and (5) excellent
computer skills.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Strong understanding/experience with SAP ERP system. Advanced skills in
Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office tools.
