Manager - Financial Controls & Compliance | BAE SYSTEMS, Inc | Arlington, VA
This position is designed to support the HQ Finance organization in
completing its business requirements. Specifically, this position has
direct responsibility for overseeing accounting control areas and
accounting compliance matters at Inc headquarters. The position also
will interface with plc Finance to ensure plc requirements pertaining to
control and compliance matters are understood and met.
Focus areas are as follows:
- Compliance with BAE Systems' Operational Framework and Financial
Policy Manual (FPM).
- Compliance with, and execution of, Financial Control Framework at Inc
HQ.
- Completion of Operational Assurance Statement for Inc HQ.
- Compliance of all Inc HQ employees with applicable HQ labor reporting
requirements.
- Compliance with various financial regulatory requirements.
- Support to Inc management on non-routine special projects.
- Supervision and training for staff member(s).
Update and publish Inc financial accounting policies (FAPs), and provide
guidance on compliance. Ensure alignment of policies with plc Financial
Policy Manual (FPM), and Operational Framework..
Execute the Financial Control Framework process at Inc HQ, ensuring
proper risk assessments, control testing and reporting.
Execute role of labor reporting administrator, ensuring compliance by
all Inc HQ employees with proper labor reporting requirements and the
accuracy of Inc HQ labor records.
Coordinate and oversee several finance regulatory requirements,
including updates to Hart-Scott-Rodino database, reporting requirements
for US census data, and various tax and license filings.
Coordinate and assist with audit work - DCAA, external & internal
audits, and assist with the coordination of the semi-annual Operational
Assurance Statement processes.
Provide financial support to the integration of newly acquired
businesses, and assist with purchase accounting requirements.
Provide financial oversight for International Assignment Program (IAP) -
Chantilly and International Purchasing - Atlanta.
Supervise and mentor one or more staff members, and perform related
administrative tasks. Perform special project as deemed necessary.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree plus minimum 4 years related job experience.
Firm understanding of financial accounting concepts and strong systems /
PC skills (MS Office).
Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Desired:
Master's degree plus minimum 10 years related job experience.
CPA preferred. International Financial Reporting Standards and Audit
experience are a plus.
